Chakra Compounded Asafoetida - the name synonyms for ‘Quality at reasonable price’. With this principle Mr P S Arumugam started this company in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu in 1932 under the brand name Chakra Asafoetida. It has successfully completed 66 years and now it is one of the most prominent player in India. It is a well known fact that South India is famous for its spicy foods.  Chakra Compounded Asafoetida is specifically tuned to the palates of the spicy South Indians.

Asafoetida is a natural product, a resinous plant gum obtained from the herb with its origin at South Western Asia, i.e., western Afghanistan and Eastern Iran. Apart from “Raw Asafoetida”, wheat flour and edible gums are the ingredients of the Chakra Compounded Asafoetida. It is marketed as semi solid cake and also in powder form. The cake form is dark brown in colour and the colour of the powder form is mixed white. Chakra compounded Asafoetida is available both in cake form and powder form. The cake form is packed in cartons and the powder form both in plastic container and laminated pouches and available in 25gm, 50gm and 100gm packing also.
