VITC-NCTI TRADE INFO

The State of Karnataka is blessed with a fair share of natural resources which supports various industries besides an agriculture based economy. The State offers tremendous potential for expanding the exports to the international market. However, there is a need to continuously provide updated and current trade information / trading opportunities to the exporting community of Karnataka to enable them to meet the challenges of globalization of Trade and Services.

It is in this context, that Visvesvaraya Industrial Trade Centre (VITC), Bangalore and National Centre for Trade Information (NCTI, New Delhi have joined hands to set up a Computerised Trade Information Centre (CTIC) at Hubli. VITC is a registered Society of the Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Govt. of Karnataka and is the nodal agency for promotion of international trade from the Karnataka State and NCTI is a premier multi-disciplinary institution, a joint venture company of India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and National Informatics Centre (NIC) set up under the aegis of Ministry of Commerce & Industry with the purpose of creating an institutional mechanism for collection and dissemination of trade data and improving information services to the business community.

The Computerised Trade Information Centre (CTIC) would cater to the needs of the SME sector including manufacturers, exporters, importers, traders, entrepreneurs and other agencies involved in promoting international trade in the State of Karnataka. It would facilitate trade and industry on different aspects of foreign trade such as identification of product, developing market, export/ import procedures & documentation, starting new export venture, participation in Trade Fair, Seminars/ workshops etc. The Centre would provide information to the exporting community of the State with special emphasis on generating specific trade enquiries for their products. It would also highlight export potential of the State through appropriate export promotion measures on a regular basis.
